South Suburban Humane Society
The South Suburban Humane Society will always strive to be the leader for animal advocacy in the community by offering diverse resources and programs that lead to the humane treatment and care of animals. The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
